How do you plan a replacement budget?

Budget depends mainly on the number of openings, the types (casement, sliding, egress, patio), glazing, colours, and what is included for installation and finishes. Online “average” amounts often mislead. These days, we give a rough figure of $1,500 to $2,000 per opening for a quick calculation at home; the amount can vary with the specs you want.

List your openings, note which ones are problematic, and decide the performance level you want (double/triple, ENERGY STAR®). Add a margin for frame or access surprises — we tell you at measuring if that applies.
