Before you buy

How do you compare two door and window quotes?

Two quotes $3,000 apart often do not describe the same project, the same quality, or the same installation. Before choosing the lowest, align what is actually offered.

Put the quotes side by side

Same number of openings? Same types (casement, sliding, egress)? Same glazing (double/triple, Low-E, argon)? Same brand/model? Installation included, and by whom? Surprise extras? Interior/exterior finishes listed? Written warranties?

Common gaps

A cheaper quote may omit the exterior wrap, simplify the glass, use basic hardware, or plan install by subcontractors. A higher quote may include triple glazing, colours, better sealing, or a more complete install.

What we recommend

Ask for an apples-to-apples version: the same specs on both quotes. Then, above all, compare the service (measuring, advice, timelines, after-sales). The lowest price is only a bargain if it covers the same work.
